my first formal interaction with music theory was an unpleasant one. i could not understand why anyone would find meaning in perfecting counterpoint writing and cadences. but now, it has grown to become a treasured guide to understanding the value of music across a myriad of disciplines.
my SENIOR THESIS at northwestern EXPLORES THE DISTINCTIVE QUALITIES OF timbre and tonality in Korean pop music.

fell in love with the saxophone in the third grade after hearing KAORI KOBAYASHI’s rendition of “nothing’s gonna change my love for you”. extensive experience in chamber music, solo performance, and wind ensembles. now playing semi-professionally.

songwriting is my first love. expressing myself through music composition beyond performance is an incredibly cathartic experience. it allows me to channel my creativity and my emotions into something that is accessible and beautiful!
